Pharmacy
Royal Care Hospital offers three fully-equipped, 24-hour pharmacies: Outpatient Pharmacy, Inpatient Pharmacy, and Emergency Department Pharmacy. These round-the-clock facilities ensure patients and their families have immediate access to essential medications, eliminating the stress of sourcing medicines at odd hours and preventing any delays in treatment due to unavailability.
Clinical Pharmacist
Our clinical pharmacists are highly trained professionals dedicated to ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for both inpatients and outpatients. They stay up to date with the latest advancements in medicine, manage prescriptions, monitor drug charts, and recommend safe medication combinations tailored to each patient’s needs.
Satellite Delivery Counters
A "satellite delivery counter" in a hospital pharmacy refers to a smaller, separate dispensing area located within a specific hospital ward or unit, away from the main pharmacy, where medications are delivered directly to nurses or healthcare providers on that floor, allowing for quicker access to medications and closer collaboration with the clinical team; essentially, a decentralized pharmacy station within the hospital complex.
1. Decentralized distribution:
Unlike a central pharmacy, satellite counters bring medication dispensing closer to the patient care area, reducing the need to transport medications long distances.
2. Improved patient care:
By having a pharmacist readily available on the ward, quicker medication access is possible, allowing for better communication and potential for immediate drug-related consultation.
3. Specialized needs:
Satellite pharmacies can stock medications specific to the needs of the patient population in that ward, optimizing inventory management.
4. Efficient workflow:
Nurses can quickly pick up medications from the satellite counter, minimizing time spent waiting for medication delivery.
